Astley

Growing up in Wigan, I was aware of our strong links to the industrial revoloution and it's reliance on coal.  Wigan had many pits, which sadly are no more.  Astley is just a few miles away and has a fantastic pit that has been turned into a museum.  Blokes in overalls spend their free time keeping the place going.  Worth a visit, and a great place to take your camera!
